Everick Sullivan is a distinguished basketball coach and former professional player, renowned for his leadership and contributions to collegiate and grassroots basketball. Sullivan began his collegiate basketball journey at the University of Louisville, where he played under Hall of Fame coach Denny Crum from 1988 to 1992. During his tenure with the Louisville Cardinals, he participated in three NCAA Tournaments and ranks among the program's all-time leaders in scoring (15th), assists (9th), 3-point percentage (10th), and dunks (10th).
After his collegiate career, Sullivan embarked on an international professional basketball journey, playing across various countries, including Finland, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Cyprus, and Lebanon. Notably, in 1998, he led his team to a Cyprus league championship and was honored as the Most Valuable Player.
Transitioning into coaching, Sullivan has amassed over 20 years of experience in collegiate basketball. He began his coaching career at Wabash Valley College in Illinois during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. He then served as head coach at Lincoln Trail College in Illinois, achieving a 28-5 record in the 2004-05 season and earning multiple Region and District Coach of the Year awards.
From 2005 to 2008, Sullivan was the head coach at Vincennes University in Indiana, compiling an impressive 107-26 record and leading the team to two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) tournament appearances. His team was ranked ninth nationally for defense in 2005-06, and he maintained a 92% graduation rate among his players.
In 2008, Sullivan joined Eastern Kentucky University as an assistant coach, later becoming associate head coach. During his tenure, the Colonels achieved 53 wins, with the team ranking among the top 10 nationally in 3-point shooting percentage and fewest turnovers per game in his final two seasons.
From 2011 to 2016, Sullivan served as an assistant coach at Georgia State University, contributing to the program's record of 87 wins over four years, the most in any four-year stretch in the school's history. His tenure was highlighted by a 25-win season, Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles, and a victory over No. 3-seed Baylor in the NCAA tournament, advancing to the third round for just the second time in school history.
In April 2016, Sullivan was appointed head coach of the men's basketball team at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Under his leadership, the Bears achieved significant success, including a 21-10 record and advancement to the NCAA Division II Regional Finals in the 2015-16 season.After eight years at Lenoir-Rhyne, Sullivan departed from the university and returned to his hometown to become the head coach of the boys' basketball team at Eastside High School in Taylors, South Carolina.
A native of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Sullivan earned a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Louisville. He and his fiancée, Michelle, have a daughter, Ellery, born in February 2012.
